Catchup – July

Hello everyone, its been quite a few weeks since I last added to my blog. Between then and now I’ve been run off my feet with school holidays, a trip away and my daughter’s ancient Egypt themed party. I have continued to create, in fact that’s all I seemed to do in preparation for the party. I’ll save photos of any artwork between my last post and now for later.

We dropped in to the National library in Canberra while on our trip where we spent a fair bit of time in the national treasures section. It was so exciting to see things such as Captain Cook’s Endeavor Journal, the original Gallipoli letter and Sturt’s own water bottle. Alongside these amazing treasures were quite a few art related ones which I have added below:

Of course the big treasure at the library is the Rothschild’s Prayer book which is very old. Here’s some photos of that as well as another book that was there. They had a lot of old hand written and painted books, such a privilege to see:

I will try to write another catchup post as I have continued with the 52 week illustration challenge over the last few weeks and art classes are resumed as well. If you ever get the chance to visit the national treasures in Canberra (and you are a history buff), make sure you go!
