On Friday night I attended the opening night for the St George Art Awards. I haven’t managed to get along to an art award opening night yet as night is always an issue for transport and availability. My wonderful hubby gave up one of his regular responsibilities for me to be able to go, thank you Michael.
The evening was in two parts, firstly the speeches and awards (Congratulations to the winners!) and then we made our way next door to the gallery to view our works. It was then that I realised that like the Hornsby Art Award last year, this one is a big deal to be hung in. The St George Art Awards are only held every two years and there were 160 finalists. What an honour!
