Trail Notes May 6

Hello again! I feel as if the trail has slowed down considerably lately. I have been painting as much as I can but there is less momentum than there has been. Currently I have no goals for entering my work into any exhibitions or prizes which I think is the main reason for the lack of momentum. I have however continued to paint so here’s what I’ve been up to this week.

It took me a while to work out what to do but then I went back through some images of poultry that I have and found this guy. This is a crested duck done in charcoal and watercolour pencil. Available on products in my RedBubble store now.

I have been continuing to work on another oil painting which needed corrections this week:

I taught my second kids art class this week and we focused on tone again but this time how to create shades and tints by adding white or black to colour. It was a bit chaotic and messy but I think the lesson was learnt. The adult art class continued this week and went well too. I have been teaching more of how to do an under drawing using a grid.
