Trail Notes October 19

I missed last Monday’s post and it wasn’t until Wednesday that I realised that I’d done so. Why did I miss it? Because there is a new (art related) routine in my week and it happens to fall on a Monday morning when I usually summarise the previous week. I will see how Sundays go for writing my trail notes post so here it is for this week and the previous one.

If you noticed my last post you will see that I attended the St George Art Awards opening night on Friday night and was able to see my work hung in the Hurstville Gallery and Museum.

I was able to do a fair bit of painting over the last couple of weeks although much of it was a struggle. Sometimes the artwork really fights you to come good.  Here’s a few bits I’ve worked on over the last 2 weeks:

Amanda Hunt TownAmanda Hunt Town2Amanda Hunt Town3If you read my blog posts you might remember me mentioning that I had a painting I considered a total disaster last week. I hate it when  a painting beats me so I went back and rethought the entire thing. This is the result.

The last two weeks has also seen the start of the art group I mentioned at the start. Each Monday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am I am running a group at our church called Create Art Group. Its a basics sort of ‘come along and play’ type drawing class. I’m both anxious and excited to be starting something like this:
